The current MatBase (January 2022) contains information on 30,420 transcription factor genes and other regulatory genes from more than 100 different species (including all organisms featured in ElDorado plus various additional ones). The 1,154 functional promoter modules describe compositions of binding sites with a proven regulatory function. The 2,222 matrices which cover 14,164 of the transcription factors are the ones that are used by MatInspector for identifying binding sites. MatBase also lists the sites and alignments that have been used to create them. All data comes with references to scientific publications that can easily be looked up via PubMed.
